2019 Filipino American International Book Festival

The 5th Filipino American International Book Festival is happening this weekend October 12 – 13, 2019 at the Main Branch of the San Francisco Public Library on 100 Larkin Street. The festival is organized by the Philippine-American Writers and Artists, Inc (PAWA) http://pawainc.com/.

This year’s theme is “Isang Mundó (One World): Humanity, Diversity, and Resistance in the Arts”. The keynote speaker is Jose Antonio Vargas, author of Dear America: Notes of an Undocumented Citizen, and founder of Define American, a nonprofit media and culture organization that uses the power of story to transcend politics and shift the conversation about immigrants, identity, and citizenship in a changing America.

Children’s programming includes Christina from Sari Sari Storybooks, Ramon Abad, Eric Tigley, Justine from Sawaga River Press, and many more!

So many amazing authors, illustrators, and publishers will be there. I really wish I could have gone this year!
